Jordorwsky’s Dune is a 2013 documentary about the greatest Science-Fiction film that was never made.
Alejandro Jodorowsky is a Chilean-French filmmaker, playwright, actor, author, musician, comics writer and spiritual guru most famous for his surrealist films in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
In 1967 he did Fando Y Lis which premiered at the 1968 Acapulco Film Festival and was met with a full scale riot and Mexico ended up banning the film. In 1970 he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in El Topo, an acid-western played only at midnight screenings and considered the first cult movie ever. After the success of El Topo, John Lennon wanted Jodorowsky to shit out gold which was when Jodorowsky was given 1 million dollars to eventually make The Holy Mountain in 1973.
1974 After organizing the successful distribution of Jodorowsky's film in France, French business-man/producer Michel Seydoux asks Jodorowsky to make anything he wants. Alejandro Jodorowsky tells Seydoux he wants to adapt Frank Herbert's 1965 novel, Dune.

If Jodorowsky's Dune was made it would have had:
Pink Floyd and Magma for the score
Jean “Moebius" Giraud, H.R. Giger, and Chris Foss for set and character design.
Dan O’Bannon for special effects (Star Wars, Alien)
Orson Welles, Gloria Swanson, David Carradine, Mick Jagger, Amanda Lear, and Salvador Dali as some of the cast.
Even after making a huge booklet the size of a telephone book of all the character/set designs, detailed storyboard descriptions of shots/angles, dialogue and how they would make certain special effects for each major American film studio, the project couldn’t get funded because it was too ambitious and was orchestrated by a “mad” director.

Even though Jodorowsky's Dune was never made films such as Alien (who had the same creative team), theStar Wars franchise, Flash Gordon, Indiana Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Arc, Blade Runner, Masters of The Universe, Contact, and Prometheusall use Jodorowsky's Dune as a visual reference so even though the film is essentially this ghost of a film that was never made it still haunts the science-fiction films we are so familiar with today.
Alejandro Jodorowsky's Dune was literally too ahead of its time.
Haven’t been posting much of anything lately but I think I’m going to start like a weekly kind of podcast/radio/mixtape thing here for the very few people who listen to the music I post here and there.
I’m all about those groovy basslines and dreamy synths~

Doctor Who. On the silver screen. In IMAX.
Bummed about JennaColeman leaving after the Christmas special but super stoked on Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor but since the Doctor’s regeneration cycle is renewed does this make CapaldiDoctor1B?
(I wonder how many confused teenagers there will be once they’ve wrapped their head around the fact that Matt Smith, with the exception of a special similar to "The Day Of The Doctor", is-not-coming-back. At all. Regenerated.)
